My job begins where the idea meets the classroom. I listen for what teachers and students need, then carry those insights back into the product. SelfPace has shown me that innovation succeeds through trust as much as technology.
- Led communication between SelfPace and JPED Academy, coordinating the rollout, daily operations, and user research.
- Planned and led professional development for teachers in August, then wrote the teacher edition of the classroom handbook so the platform could fit into existing teaching practice.
- Observed and analyzed 18+ classes and interviewed students, turning classroom experience into concrete feedback for the product team.
- Worked with JPED’s academic directors on curriculum, teaching methods, and learning resources for the school year.
- Used AI coding tools to build Math lessons and English skills now used by students and teachers.

Testing the first lesson model
Our first version tested AI-generated lessons as a way to support self-paced practice. Early feedback helped us see how the platform could become more useful by beginning with teachers’ own materials and classroom goals.
- July–August 2026
Building with teachers
We developed tools that help teachers transform their own materials into interactive learning experiences. Before launch, we tested the approach with teachers and prepared them to use it in class.
- September 1, 2026
Launching across the school
We introduced SelfPace through six presentations, one for each grade from 7 to 12. Math classes began using the platform on September 3, giving us our first school-wide view of how the system worked in practice.
- Autumn 2026
Learning from the classroom
As students and teachers used SelfPace, classroom observations and interviews became the basis of our next decisions. We are now building a living digital portfolio for every student that tracks individual progress and supports personalized growth.
